FAQ’s

Whether you’re a complete newbie to yoga or a seasoned yogi - below are some FAQs for Flow State.

Studio Q’s

Changing Rooms & Lockers:

We are a small studio and have a small room with pigeon holes for bags and coats as well as a small bathroom that is gender inclusive. We don’t have showers or towel hire. We kindly ask that you leave all personal belongings including phones in the changing space. Only water bottles & towels on the studio floor.

Parking:

There is a street parking in the surrounding streets of the studio but the closest car park is Norton Road car park (15 minute walk).

Bike lock up:

There is bike parking in the courtyard to the left of the studio (if looking at it) through the big gates. This area is secure and used also by the Brighton Institute Of Music (BIMM).

Membership:

The best way to stay connected with the community & stay committed to your physical, mental and spritiual path is with a membership. We have different options - check them out here.

Pausing Membership:

As we are a small studio and rely on memberships to keep us running as well as paying our teachers, we ask you only if it is extremely necessary to pause that you do so - unlimited memberships can be paused once for 30 days every calendar year.

Cancellations:

  • Unlimited members can cancel up to 6 hours before the class starts to avoid any penalties.

  • Classpack holders - can cancel up to 6 hours before to avoid losing a credit.

  • If you cancel less than 6 hours before the class or miss the class this is deemed as a late/no show. If this happens you will incur a £12 fee or loss of booking.

  • If you'd like to cancel your membership, you'll need to let us know with at least seven days' notice before your next automatic payment date. If notice is given with less than seven days, we'll take one more payment, and your membership will continue through the duration of that billing period that's been charged.

Lost Property:

If you’ve left something at the studio - no worries! We’ll keep it safe for you just drop us an email and let us know when you’d like to collect it. All left items can be found in the basket in the kitchette space.

Yoga Q’s

I am new to yoga - where do I start?

Great! We love to welcome new people to the space and the wonderful world of yoga and embodied movement. All of our classes are open to all levels. Our teachers will guide those who need more assistance, whilst always offering options for those with more experience.

Mats & Props :

We will provide all mats, props & bolsters but of course if you would prefer to practice with your own you’re welcome to bring one. Our mats are done if the best, Yogi Bare - so you’re in good hands.

We always ask for you to spray & wipe clean your mats after use for health & hygiene purposes.

Please note that all blankets & bolster covers are cleaned regularly.

Pregnant:

Yoga is great for those who are pregnant however, we recommend that you don’t practice during your first trimester. If joining a class please let your teacher know that you are pregnant before the class starts. We advise you not begin any new practices you haven’t done before pregnancy (eg. inversions or intense breathwork) and always practice mindfully and with intuition to how your body is feeling.

Workshops:

We run workshops and one off events often at the studio and externally through private hire. Should you be interested please drop us email via our ‘contact page’ giving all the necessary details.

Workshops & events are usually priced at a different cost to a class & most of the time these are separate to your membership but some one off can be booked in your plan.
